Berkshire Grown is a vital advocacy organization that supports local food and farmers in the Berkshires. In 2019, Dawn met with executive director Margaret Moulton; they had a grant and were ready for input on how to reach and increase their audience.

After a couple meetings, Dawn came back with a plan to increase their local food-and-farmer loving audience. Tailored content was created and posts on Instagram and Facebook went from once-in-a-while to 4 to 5 times/week. Keep reading for statistics…

Outcomes? Over the course of 3 years, Berkshire Grown’s Instagram audience has quadrupled, going from 900 to 3,700 followers, and Facebook gained 1,000+ fans. Instagram is an especially dynamic channel with farmer “takeovers,” videos via Reels, and consistent celebration of food and farmers. Berkshire Grown also posts to Google (important!).
